Independent audits and honest pricing
Launched our independent audit hub. We now publish honest audits of the removal services we refer people to, starting with a complete DeleteMe audit. Incogni and Optery audits are in progress.
New pricing page. Penumbras is free: the scan, the full report, and the guidance cost nothing. It explains exactly how we make money (referral fees) and why that never changes a rating.
This changelog. Every week we will list what changed in plain English, right here.
Reports now recommend our top audited removal service first, with the others marked as coming soon until their audits are published.
Added privacy-respecting usage analytics so we can see which features actually help people (no third-party trackers, data stays with us).
Bigger touch targets across buttons and links so everything is easier to tap on a phone.
Clear focus outlines when navigating with a keyboard.
Exposure reports reflow better on small phone screens.

Shareable reports and a friendlier scan
Sharing a report link now shows a preview card with the risk score and findings count, so people you warn can see why it matters before they click.
Reports gained a Recommended Removal Services section matched to what the scan actually found.
Each removable exposure now shows a direct removal path with the matching service.
The scan wizard got a visible progress stepper, instant email checking, press-Enter-to-continue, and a launch animation while your scan spins up.
If your device is set to reduce motion, animations now respect that and stay still.
Rebuilt the homepage around you: investor material moved to its own page so the front door is entirely about your privacy.
Published Our Mission, the page that explains why Penumbras exists and the rules we hold ourselves to.
Search (Cmd+K) and the sitemap were updated to match the new structure.

The free exposure scan arrives
Launched the free exposure scan. Enter your name (and optionally email, phone, usernames, city) and we check 16 intelligence sources for traces of you.
Every scan produces a full dossier-style report: a 0 to 100 risk score, each finding explained in plain language, and what to do about it.
Added dark-web breach checks, username reuse checks, and people-search site coverage to the scan.
Added Google sign-in, a personal dashboard, and monitoring settings for returning users.
Made the whole site noticeably faster: quicker loading and snappier animations, especially on older phones.
Readability pass: increased text contrast across the site after feedback that some copy was too dim.

Penumbras opens its doors
The site launched: who we are, why data brokers are a problem worth fighting, and how removal actually works.
Opened the early access waitlist with referral codes so you can move up the list by inviting others.
Published the threat research dashboard with live industry data on breaches and the data broker economy.
Added the security page (how we protect what you share with us) and legal pages.
Updated weekly. Older history is summarized above; ask us if you want detail on anything.
